Merchant guide · Version 1.0.0
Connect discovery to checkout.
Configure the catalog first, then test each path with real resources.
Product pages and cards
Product information has blocks for heading, price, description, variants, selling plans, quantity, buy buttons, pickup, benefits, size guide, rich text, collapsible rows and custom Liquid. Compatible app blocks can extend it. Keep essential purchase controls available.
Enable sticky add to cart supplies a secondary purchase action after the main controls leave view. Size guide can use a page or fallback content. Low-stock messaging depends on tracked inventory.
Maintain media on the product and add a second image for card hover. Show custom product badges uses the custom.badge text metafield. Selling plans, pickup, Shop Pay and accelerated checkout require the corresponding store/product setup; theme toggles do not activate services.
Quick buy and Quick View
- In Theme settings → Commerce enable quick buy on product cards, then quick view for products with options.
- Try a single-variant product and one with options. Quick View intentionally uses a native variant select; choose an available variant and add it.
- Check unavailable options, error feedback, close, Escape and focus return. Open the product page for the full gallery.
Filters and recommendations
Select real collections in merchandising sections. Product grid uses the current collection. Show filtering reveals configured storefront filters; configure useful ones in Shopify Search & Discovery.
Related and complementary recommendations depend on Shopify data and may be hidden without results. Predictive search belongs to header search; Search results is the full results page.
Cart and Shopify features
Open cart in a drawer changes cart presentation. Check drawer and cart page: add, quantity change, remove, note, discounts, empty state and checkout.
For gift-card products, check recipient fields and the redemption page. Issuance, customer accounts, payments, taxes, discounts and shipping are store features, not resources created by a theme upload.
Use the store’s approved test-order process before launch.
