Product recommendations

Show related or complementary products returned by Shopify.

Where to find it

In the theme editor, open the appropriate template and use Add section.

Available on: product templates.

Images & video

Uses recommended-product images: 4:5, 2000 × 2500 px.

Sizes are recommended source minimums, not upload restrictions. Prepare and crop media.

Set it up

  1. Use on a product template and choose Recommendation type. Configure merchandising in Shopify Search & Discovery.
  2. No results means the section can stay hidden; check a product with suitable recommendations.

Section settings

Names match the English theme editor. The installed preset may override schema defaults. A conditional field appears only when its related control is enabled.

Color scheme

Schema default: scheme-3. Presets can override it.

Applies a coordinated set of background, text, accent and button colors.

Recommended: Start with the preset scheme. Check contrast after changing colors or photography.

Recommendation type

Schema default: Related products. Presets can override it.

Choices: Related products · Complementary products.

Chooses the recommendation type behavior or layout from the listed options.

Recommended: Start with the preset choice. Compare the available modes in desktop and mobile previews.

Eyebrow

Schema default: Complete the edit. Presets can override it.

Sets the visible eyebrow.

Recommended: Replace demonstration copy with a short, specific label; confirm it makes sense out of context.

Heading

Schema default: Pieces with the same intention.. Presets can override it.

Sets the visible heading with inline emphasis.

Text

Schema default: Selected to layer, combine and live with for years.. Presets can override it.

Sets the visible text with rich-text formatting.

Recommended: Replace demonstration copy with concise, accurate store content. Avoid unsupported claims and translate it for active languages.

Products to show

Schema default: 4. Presets can override it.

Range: 2–8; step 1.

Adjusts products to show within the range shown.

Recommended: Start at 4; check the smallest and widest layouts before increasing it.

Desktop columns

Range: 2–4; step 1.

Adjusts desktop columns within the range shown.

Recommended: Start at 4; check the smallest and widest layouts before increasing it.

Show vendor

Schema default: false. Presets can override it.

Turns “Show vendor” on or off.

Recommended: Start with the preset choice. Enable only when the relevant content or store feature is configured, then preview the result.
